Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station Renovation: Notice of Closing of Transfer Passage

   From 18 June 2018, the Dongdaemun History & Culture Park  Station of Seoul Metro (abbreviated to hereafter DHCP Station) will be renovated. Everything will be fine except one thing: the passage that connects line no.5 of DHCP Station will be closed. 

   Yesterday I passed line no.5 at DHCP Station and walked through the passage that connects line no.5 to line no.2 and line no.4. There I found the Seoul Metro staffs giving out some leaflets that inform the renovation and passage close.

Notice of Closing of Subway Line 5 Transfer Passageway

   Construction Period: July 18~ OCtober 31, 2018

   The Transfer Passageway to Line 5 has been closed due to the replacement of the old escalator for the safety and convenience of customers.

   (Line 2 ↔ Line 4 Transfer Passageways is still in service)

   We will endeavor to finish construction as soon as possible to minimize traffic inconvenience.

   Line 2 ↔ Line 5 : No transfer

   Line 4 ↔ Line 5 : No transfer

   If you are the one who wants to use Seoul subway line no.5 to visit the Dongdaemun History and Culture Park (aka DDP), be aware that you will not allowed to use the passage. However, it is OK to go upstairs and use the road on the ground: DDP is big enough to find. 

   If you have your hotel around the DHCP station, be sure that your routes with subway not to include transfers from line no.5 at this station.
