CGV Cine&Foret (Seoul Gangbyeon) Movie Theater Review : Price, Discount, How to get there

This is a post about CGV's specialized movie Screen CINE & FORET.

CGV is a company that operates multiplex in Korea and they have some specially formatted screens like 4dx, IMAX, etc.

This is a review of the renewed CGV Gangbyeon's Cine&Foret (CINE&FORET).

1. What is CGV Cine&Foret Screen?

• The renewed Cine&Foret at CGV Gangbyeon is a nature-friendly premium theater commemorating CGV's 20th anniversary. 
• It is decorated in a camping concept, creating a nature-friendly atmosphere and is a trendy place for taking photos. I visited after its renewal on July 6, 2023.

2. Where is the cinema located? How can I get there?

• Go up to Techno Mart (테크노마트), which is connected to Gangbyeon Station on Seoul Subway Line 2 (Green Line).
  Get the elevator/lift/escalator to the 10th floor and you can find the Cine&Foret theater.
  
  
• If you drive yourself, you need to purchase tickets at the ticket booth after presenting the admission ticket. (50% discount for moviegoers)

• When using the subway:
• Line 2: After getting off at Gangbyeon Station, exit from exit 1 and head to the 10th floor of Techno Mart.

Note that CGV Gangbyeon has inexpensive underground parking, while above-ground parking is more expensive. Utilizing the underground parking is more cost-effective, so keep that in mind.

3. What are its special features?

• Cine&Foret, which reopened on July 6, features an open library, CINESHOP, and Cine&Foret theater, and various events are held, likely due to it being a high-priced premium cinema.
  
  
• The theater has a forest-like atmosphere, touted as the first in Korea with a high-purity oxygen air purification system and a grassy sloped theater. Additionally, the ceiling has twinkling star-shaped lights, creating a feeling of watching a movie under the night sky.
  
  
• It's suitable not only for couples on a date but also as a special indoor family outing place. Also for the tourists and travelers who want special movie experience. 

4. What are the seat types and movie ticket prices?

• The seats consist of single bean bag seats optimized for solo movie enjoyment, and at the front, there are mat seats for two viewers.
  
  
• Cabana seats are arranged at the back for comfortable viewing.
  
  
• Various menu options, including beer and chicken, enhance the movie-watching experience. It feels like camping.

5. What other positive points are there?

• You can enter the theater 20 minutes before the screening starts. You are free to take photos, feeling like you are in indoor glamping. 
• After the screening, there is a designated time for relaxation with meditation music. 
• CGV Gangbyeon's Cine&Foret provides not only a movie-watching experience but an overall healing experience. 
• The theater emits clean, high-purity oxygen, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a forest filled with phytoncides.

6. Is it available outside Seoul?

• Yes, there are Cine&Foret theaters in major cities outside Seoul, including Ilsan, Dong Suwon, Daegu Hanil, Gwangju Geumnam-ro, Bucheon, and Cheonan Terminal.

7. Are there any discounts for Cine&Foret?

• Yes, there are discount methods. By using coupons distributed on the CGV app, you can watch movies at Cine&Foret for 10,000 won, not limited to regular theaters.
  
  
• Coupons are irregularly announced through push alarms. For the year 2023, there have been issued coupons for Cine&Foret discounts in May and August.
  
  
• It seems that it's not easy for travelers and tourists to get the discount coupon.
