Today, I will introduce a very famous and well-known Korean food for foreigners. The name of the menu is samgyepsal, meaning special pork belly. Grilling it makes the pork belly less greasy and much tasteful.

The Hwapo Sikdang I visited is the Hannam Branch. There are also many other branches, so if you are interested in Pork Belly BBQ, let me show you the photos!

This is the exterior and interior of the Hwapo Sikdang, You can recognize the "화포식당" Korean letters with this photo, so I took one. (There were no Alphabet or Chinese letters at all!) Actually I do not take such photos, but I know that is is very important information who are not familiar to Korean characters.

Here shows the menus and prices for each pork cuts. VAT is included in the price, so you do not need pay any adiitional charge. There are also many meaals like Kimchi Jjigae and Nangmyeon (Cold Noodle), Bibimbap, etc.

The soup in the pot is 해물탕 (Seafood Soup). It seems clear and not spicy. However once you take a sip, it may feel very hot and spicy so be careful when you try!

Many restarants in Korea offers basic Banchan (Side dish). This is free of charge, and also refillable by yourself.

Now it's time to grill the pork belly! The photo above shows pork belly for two.

The staffs grill and serve the food, so all you have to do is see and feel the vibe of Samgyeopsal. Today I orderd craft beer from Left Coast Brewery, but Soju (Korean spirit) is also available.

Many banchan (side dish) are available, so you may try many combinations of pork and banchan. Wasabi is spicy but fits great especially for the pork belly. My favorite.

Garlic is also one of the free side dish. Strongly recommend to stir-fry the garlic with served oil (refer the photo above) to avoid garlic failures which may cause an instant taste malfunction.

This is another cut, pork net. The thing on the left side of the wood plate is Imsil Cheese (임실치즈), Korean local one.

Yummy!
